I have a blog, "Blissful Artist", but it has grown and expanded so much ~ thanks to all my friends and followers ~ that my art got lost in the years of posts. It became clear that I needed a separate site to showcase my arts. So this is that website, and I have another site for my soaps and other bath products, "GreenTree Artisan Soaps".
As it says under the title, I don't quite know how to define my art. I work with fabrics and fibers ~ anything tactile ~ and I love combining them with lots of other things: paints, inks, beads, stitch, metal, stamping, paper, and more. The list of photo albums (to the right) will give you a good idea of my projects, but I never know what I’ll come up with next!
Some people have asked about buying my work. I belong to the VAAM art gallery in my small Kansas town, where I am happy to share space with other local artists. Sometimes I’ll make a sale there. I also go on the road, showing and selling at crafts fairs and other local and regional events. It would be difficult to order online, but please send me an email if you see something you like, or have something in mind that you’d like me to make, and we can discuss the details and negotiate the price.
Thanks to everyone who has encouraged and inspired me in this effort! Certainly at the gallery, I am fortunate to have the influence and critical input of many wonderful, creative people, including a woman who was once my teacher in school. How amazing to access her creativity so many years after she was my art instructor! Thanks, Liz.
Other artistic influences include Maggie Grey and Beryl Taylor, both of whom I admire tremendously for their incredible creativity and energy. Their work gives me goose bumps!
